Font - I live in a city where it is dangerously hot lately. It has been about 100°F (-38 °C) everyday. I have moved my dog's daily long walk to evening time, but he has a small bladder and needs to pee every 3 hours or so. It is inevitable that he needs potty walk at least three to four times during the daytime (9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm).

Font - The floor of the sidewalk is burning hot so for now I carry him to a grass patch in a shade every time he needs to pee. However, the heat itself still seems to bother him a lot. He looks dazed every time we are out, even when he is in the shade. The second we go back inside, he becomes his normal self again and starts running around.

Human body - I am not sure how to handle this. Do I just lay down some pee pads for him to use during the daytime so that he does not need to go outside? Is there any other way to go about this? TYIA!

Font - MartiniBikini7777 . 2 days ago I'm in Scottsdale, my dog won't wear booties. So I got a dog stroller. I quickly roll her over to the shady grass area, she does her business then I scoop her up back into the stroller and quickly wheel her back to the house. Then she gets a couple of spoonfuls of doggy ice cream.

Font - __BeesInMyhead__ . 2 days ago My dad does this for his black shitzu mix. It's really an incredible thing! He nearly always comes back from their walks a bit annoyed, though. Apparently, at least one person yells at him every single day for having a dog in a coat in the heat... So, every single day, he has to explain what it is. And only 2 people have bothered to touch the coat when he tells them to (and they say "wow! What a cool thing!"). The rest just stay mad and act like this strange

Font - redroowa 2 days ago I live in Western Australia. It's 40c during summer. The boys get walked at 5am before the sun comes up. The nip outside for pees as needed. In fairness though ... they're ridgebacks and love a good bake. I shout at them for laying in the midday Aussie sun ... but they look at me and say "just a few more minutes".

Font - CatpeeJasmine. 2 days ago Champion CC: JRT mix & Lucy: ACD mix If he already knows to use pee pads and you're willing, that could be a solution. But if he's not already pee pad trained, you're risking accidents. Otherwise, yeah, it's basically about making the potty trip as safe as possible. Carrying to grass in the shade is a good plan if you can do it. Otherwise, dog boots (though that also requires conditioning) can help with walking on hot surfaces. Generally, quick potty trips, if th

Font - humanbeing21 2 days ago · edited 2 days ago Early in the morning, around dawn, is usually the coolest part of the day. If possible, taking your long walk then would be better. Also if the humidity is not too bad, you could wet your dog down before your daytime potty breaks. Your smart to stay off hot surfaces and in the shade as much as possible in the hottest parts of the day. It's fine for a dog to be a little hot for short periods of time. Mine actually enjoys laying in the sun for a s
